How to care for your Oamaru Stone Art

Oamaru Stone  sculptures occasionally require a little bit of maintenance.

Cleaning and sealing every couple of years will help the stone  retain its natural white /creamy colour.

The best placement for your art is in full sunlight as the sun will keep any discolouration from starting.

If it's positioned in the shade you may find it has developed a bit of growth on it so quick spray with exit mould (left on for a couple of minutes) and a hose down will turn your stone white  again.

This can then be resealed with a masonry sealant which is readily available from most hardware stores.

I have a sculpture in my garden that still looks like new after 2 years simply by making the most of the sunlight.
